Voices and Choices was created following a series of workshops exploring land use held at Tormore Estate as part of the Cairngorms 2030 project.

The piece depicts the voices of the young people from Speyside High School in relation to future land management choices. It is a record of their visions and ideas for the future landscape of Tormore. 

Inspired by geological charts depicting layers of ground and weather systems that form the landscape. The bright colours and labels within a diagram style felt fitting in the context of the school.

Voices and Choices invites discussion around land use and options for shaping the future landscape.

The wildflower layer recognises that many people see landscape as a background to their lives, almost like wallpaper.
